      I was fortunate to serve as Legislative Director for Congressman Tom Rice for the 113th and 114th Congresses. Congressman Rice represented South Carolina's seventh district, the Pee Dee and Grand Strand.       I was a Program Coordinator for the Program of Alternative Certification for Educators (PACE), which is administered by the South Carolina Department of Education. Essentially PACE provides an alternative pathway into the classroom for career changers. Developed to address statewide teacher shortages, PACE assists academically-qualified individuals transition into the teaching profession. It is a three-year program that serves approximately 1300 participants through five locations spread across the state.
