Serve as a resource for faculty and other professional advisors across the university. Collaborate with the Center for Career & Professional Development and the Office of Fellowships & Scholarships to plan and implement professional development programming. Serve on the Health Vocations Committee alongside to evaluate and prepare letters of evaluation for Mercer-Macon students applying to medical, dental, and veterinary schools. Serve on the Fulbright Committee, assisting undergraduate applicants to the Fulbright Scholarship program through advising, feedback on written work, and mentoring. Teach a one-credit hour First-Year Student Experience (UNV 101) course each fall, supporting, mentoring and advising first year students as they navigate the difficult transition from high school to college. The course covers topics such as utilizing available resources, campus policies (such as Title IX), the importance of diversity and inclusion, developing and maintaining mental and physical well-being, time management, study skills, professional development, and academic and vocational exploration.
