The Lakes College is a co‐educational Christian school which fosters the strong traditions of quality education provided in Uniting Church schools. The College seeks to produce graduates who are courageous, respectful and compassionate people of influence. As the Engagement Assistant, I assist with developing the school's brand and engagement strategy within the scope of marketing and enrolments and I am responsible for planning, organising, managing and coordinating various types of events for, and on behalf of, the College, with an emphasis on stakeholder engagement, planning and preparation. Though my primary day to day activities involve co‐ordinating the planning and organisation of all College events including open days, orientation days, information evenings involving new and prospective students, internal and external community events, special assemblies, award nights and the opening of new facilities at the College, I work closely within the Engagement Team to provide administrative, promotional, marketing, and procedural support within the school. Paperific is known as ‘Heaven on Earth for Papercraft Lovers’. As an expo that has always been dedicated to paper arts, Paperific is a showcase of a wide range of papercraft retailers and stalls. Exhibitors come from all over Australia, and sometimes from overseas to exhibit at Paperfic, as do attendees. Of course, because of their popularity, scrapbooking and stamping are the two crafts that are always best represented, but the variety of products is incredible. Paperific provides retails products, classes and free demonstrations to the general public. The expo's free ‘make and take’ projects offered by many businesses, kids treasure trail and VIP Tickets are what sets us apart from other expos, along with the fact that we have been running for over 10 years. As an Event Assistant at Paperific I assist both during the expo and throughout the year on social media, doing jobs including: • Managing, scheduling and creating content for social media platforms to uphold and promote the Paperific brand. • Writing, editing and developing email-marketing newsletters. • Managing event volunteers, retailers and exhibitors. • Helping, directing and crisis management of bump-in and bump-outs. • Supervising the Critters Treasure Trail and assisting when needed. • Taking, editing and posting official photos for Paperific Expo. • Catering to Paperific VIP Members and managing the VIP Room.
