As some may know, Bobwhite quail populations are in trouble. The once plentiful upland game bird has declined over 80% in the last 20 years, mainly due to habitat loss. Part of my job is to restore critical habitats via Farm Bill programs such as CRP. I get to help landowners restore habitat and implement sound conservation practices on their farms. I provide technical assistance for any private landowners with herbicide applications, prescribed burning, planting of native grasses, forbs and shrubs, drill and sprayer calibrations and more. My office is housed in the USDA Service Center where I assist 10 counties of West TN with any wildlife related conservation planning, vegetation reviews etc. I'm passionate about what I do. Working with landowners throughout West TN is a joy, and being able to create and restore habitat for quail is a dream come true. Show less
