Community Health and Development Intern
-
May 2015 - Aug 2015
I interned with CMF in their partnership with Missions of Hope International in the Mathare Valley Slum of Nairobi, Kenya. I spent 8 weeks working with nationals to assist in, and learn what it looks like to holistically transform this community. My weeks were divided between time spent in the clinic and time spent visiting people in their homes, assessing their physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs and taking action to meet them. I learned so much about what it means to do "development work" in a developing country. More importantly I experienced first hand the value of all people's and all cultures. Show less

Intern and Volunteer across Various Hospital Departments
-
Jun 2012 - Aug 2012
I had the great opportunity to intern and volunteer at the Salem Hospital for a summer. I was able to work all over the hospital and to even help with therapy in the Orthopedic Department. I learned a lot more about what it looks like to work in the medical field, specifically in the hospital setting, and I was able to practice interaction with a wide diversity of patients.
