For two hours a week over a ten week semester long period, myself, two other students, and a supervisor teach children basic design principles through model building, drawing, city exploration, full scale representation, idea representation and thoughtful collaboration. Every week I spend about ten to fifteen hours preparing for the upcoming class, whether its constructing templates and plans for the students to work on, reviewing how the lesson went, collecting materials or just simply planning what the class will learn for the next week. The job was finished with the students presenting a final Master Plan of an exterior classroom and farmer's market to their parents and peers. Show less
