I have been working with Cosmin for the last 6 years in my role as product manager for the Micro Focus Universal Discovery tool. For most of this time, Cosmin was a member of my R&D team acting as product owner for specific functions. While we did not work together often, we did interact weekly during planning sessions and after awhile, I would pull Cosmin into customer discussions related to areas of his responsibility within the Universal Discovery tool. During this time, Cosmin was a reliable and upbeat developer and leader that I could rely upon to work well with my customers, to represent my product well for any improvements being requested, and to respond quickly and with accuracy to any issues that customers presented to him. I came to rely on Cosmin as a primary interface between my customers and R&D for areas of responsibility for the lab in his region. This last year Cosmin was promoted to product manager along with me. Even though he was new to the product management role, he took to it VERY quickly and within just a few months, he was as effective and productive as I in his new role. We split up customer responsibilities by region and I found I could completely trust him with his customer interactions. It's not easy to balance the demands of customers against the resources available to implement new features but Cosmin did this well. Customers felt listened too and acknowledged even though they didn't always get what they needed right away. He has a good head on his shoulders and is able to reconcile customer needs to a product plan, and then follow through to deliver to his commitments. I will sincerely miss Cosmin as he moves on to new role though I would say that whoever he works with in the future will greatly benefit from having Cosmin on their team.
