The approach was very much strength based, think family and holistic. I am a trained parenting practitioner in Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities. The objective was to keep children in the family home and to start work with the family early to stop children becoming looked after/ risk of care. Within the role I had also have a statutory role in education welfare ,carrying out six weekly attendance meetings, advising families of the consequences of non school attendance as well as starting the legal procedure. I am very familiar with the Team Around approach and confident in chairing meetings as well as completing detailed and complex assessments. I worked in partnership with many services including a CAMHS, social workers, YOT, domestic violence services, schools and housing. I am skilled in co- ordinating services in order for the family to gain the best service involvement.
