I was lucky enough to get recruited by Cori Thiermann during the fall of 2012 before I graduated high school. Since then, Cori has become an incredibly special person in my life. I had the privilege of playing for Coach Thiermann for four years on the softball team at Berry College. To accurately communicate the type of person Cori Thiermann is via a written description is nearly impossible but I will try my best. As a leader and head coach, Coach Thiermann demanded a certain type of excellence that is unparalleled to many leaders today. Day in and day out, Coach Thiermann held my teammates and I to a certain standard that brought out the best in us as not only players, but people too. Being the type of leader she is—amicable, hardworking, stoic, passionate, caring, fun—Coach Thiermann made it easy to WANT to work hard and rise to her standards in order to be the best. During my time playing under Coach Thiermann she taught me how to lead, work hard, be accountable, and do the right thing. Since graduating college I now work in healthcare, and am also in a doctorate program to become a physical therapist. Without the values that Coach instilled in me during my time in college, I am certain I would not be as successful in the

I've had the great pleasure of knowing Cori Thiermann for 7 years, while being coached by her for 4 of those years during my time playing for Berry College Softball. Those were the 4 most memorable and exciting years of my life, and Coach Cori Thiermann had a lot of influence in that. Not only is she a great coach, but she's an incredible mentor, leader and friend. The faculty and staff at Berry College are known for serving as great mentors for their students, and without a doubt, I can say that Coach Thiermann embodied that towards me more than any other individual I came in contact with a Berry College. If it weren't for her kindness, leadership, patience, and guidance, I would not have graduated from Berry. As our softball coach, she ensured that we not only excelled out on the field, but in the classroom and most importantly in life. Coach Thiermann has an enormous amount of passion and heart, and she has poured everything that she has into the Berry College Softball program for many years. I am forever thankful that I've had the opportunity to play for her. I know that Cori Thiermann will always be in my corner and will continue to be my life-long mentor.
