It was my privilege to work with Corey at reVerb. He is an empathetic software engineer who is a natural leader. His technical knowledge of both the front and back end proved vital in implementing solutions to several tricky problems: foremost of which was implementing a parsing algorithm to detect Express server configurations using regular expressions. Pair programming with Corey made me a better software engineer; he is able to patiently technically communicate his implementations to difficult problems in a way that allowed me to expedite my learning of new technologies. Corey would add value to any team that he works on; he can not only lead a project but can also actively contribute in a technically proficient manner with a collaborative and positive attitude.

      • Created a RESTful API client for VS Code that simplifies developing and testing Express endpoints • Designed and implemented customer facing website using React and Node • Integrated Typescript’s static structural typing system to reduce runtime errors and improve overall scalability • Utilized the VS Code API to extend editor capabilities, add additional UI elements, and create persistent local storage • Developed a parsing algorithm using Regex and AST to automatically and dynamically detect all routes handled by any Express server, allowing users to test routes with a single click • Built a test environment with multiple Express servers of varying configurations to validate the parsing algorithm • Leveraged React and Redux to create an optimized SPA for configuring test requests (set cookies, params, queries, authentication, and body) and displaying response output within VS Code. • Implemented programmatic generation of Axios requests that are pre-configured for routes handled by the back end • Automated Jest tests using Travis CI to ensure failing builds were not merged into code base, maximizing application uptime, and minimizing the possibility of build-breaking pull requests • Product developed under tech accelerator OS Labs Show less

System included individual and company-wide licenses hosted on a server • Developed several tools using Python and VBA to increase the efficiency of team and quality of deliverables • Created problem reports in JIRA to track and resolve software issues as they were discovered • Generated software requirements, planning documents, requirement based tests, unit tests, and more • Developed risk mitigation strategies to ensure project met schedule and budget requirements Show less
