    • Field Staff
      • Jan 2018 - Jul 2018

I supported students by building rapport, maintaining close supervision, and taking them on group backpacking expeditions in the wilderness of Western North Carolina. Some students came to us after being transported from their houses in the middle of the night, others court mandated and some voluntarily. In the 2 - 3 months they are at Trails Carolina Field Staff help them write letters to their parents, use their primitive skills and create a supportive group environment. The #1 thing I took from this job is how to treat your employees. The second best thing I took from it is how to handle crisis intervention.
