A short-term position that required me to provide nightly, routine care for the four horses of the farm. This included bringing them in from the pasture, feeding and watering them and administering any medications that they needed. I was also in charge of grooming them, mucking out their stalls, and keeping the barn neat and clean each night, as well as any other tasks relating to their health and happiness that my boss assigned each day. My job also required me to take detailed notes about the care and condition of each of the horses each day, monitoring their health and habits to ensure that they were properly cared for.

A volunteer position that allowed for the observation of the workings of a prestigious large animal facility. Assisted with hospital upkeep and worked with the nurses of the hospital to provide patient care. Additionally, I was able to observe surgeries in a large animals hospital, as well as countless more minor procedures. Performed routine hospital and patient care at this AAHA accredited veterinary hospital as a Veterinarian Technician’s Assistant. Cleaning and maintenance of examination rooms, as well as stocking and sterilization of surgery suite were daily tasks. Also attended to and restrained patients while they were admitted to the hospital, and while they were being examined or operated on. Lots of experience with observing and assisting with surgeries.
