Initiated and participated in outreach activities with potential industry and academic partners to support development of Expressions of Interest and Full Proposals for AB-ON Program in consultation with internal and external stakeholder groups (BDO, industry, academic/research) and its funding partners (OCE, AITF). Program required identification of industry, academic and non-academic research collaborations with the minimum cash:in-kind contributions to leverage provincial and federal research funding or investment with anticipated economic benefit in both provinces. Funding for projects up to $1.25 million over 2 yrs. More than a two-fold increase was observed in the number and diversity of opportunities considered outside of the oil & gas sector, including opportunities in ICT, materials and manufacturing, infrastructure, energy, water, food, animal, human health and life sciences related technology developments and innovations.

More then $1.0 M in proof-of-principle and prototype development funding was secured in support of early stage technology development and commercialization efforts.
