Project management for library construction projects e.g. Chelmsford, UK (opened by HM Queen) and Tembisa township in Johannesburg.Negotiated the first ever set of licenses for the legal copying of study materials in sub-Saharan Africa. Provided to all South African HE institutions.In South Africa, led the design and delivery of 2500 training places on 14 development interventions for 600 individuals.Founder member of the first British Council Information Assurance Committee.Only non-South African member of the National Library Transformation Board. Oversaw the merger of 2 national libraries, recruitment of the senior team and development of new strategy.Led the Connecting Futures Global Programme – first ever British Council global programme working with 15 to 25-year olds. Resulting in 300 new partnership in 44 countries involving over 30,000 young people.Founded the Global Xchange partnership with VSO - the forerunner of the International Citizens Service.Leadership of British Council work with Commonwealth institutions and attendance at Commonwealth Heads of Government Meetings in Nigeria and Malta.Designed and introduced internships and work experience programmes specifically targeting disadvantaged individuals and young people. Designed and developed a practical, experienced based programme for new leaders covering all aspects of operational leadership on the ground.Leadership of a business transformation programme which increased the professionalisation of roles including finance and ensured that all displaced staff found a role in the wider organisation.
