Petards are an engineering company who design, develop, manufacture and install advanced surveillance and communications systems across the military, government and transport sectors. Formation of the service group for Petards Joyce-Loebl bringing all the project delivery tasks, (Installation, commissioning and technical support) back in house, having previously been outsourced at considerable cost.Established 7 new sites supporting project delivery and customer needs. Robust processes and procedures were developed and introduced ensuring compliance to health and safety and other relevant employment and operational legalisation. Developed a set of Visual KPI's covering key areas of QCD (Quality, Cost and Delivery) ensuring projects were delivered in an efficient cost effective manner.

Operations Manager

Interfleet Technology is an international Engineering and Project Management consultancy company. Working as a Senior Consultant I was supporting key clients; working with their teams on their site providing Engineering, Project and Business management solutions to some of their inherent problems. I had two senior postings, the first for a new UK Tram Operator working with them in their start-up operational strategy. My final posting was with a London Underground fleet owner/maintainer developing and implementing a reliability growth program to improve operational performance.

Product Support Operations Manager

Reporting to the UK Product Support Director, managing the overall operations of the department with responsibility for the planning and management of a customer focused results driven Engineering Function. The role involved managing the Installation and commissioning activities initially of Traction and auxiliary systems following onto train level Installation and Commissioning as well as modifications. This included project management and delivery, Installation, commissioning, warranty and technical support in addition to product validation and product modification. Responsible for the efficient operation of all department resources, consisting of 160 UK and overseas staff. Direct accountability for new project tendering, project delivery of all site operations QCD targets including - financial management (projects £400k to £9m), risk analysis, tender and contract validation, thereby delivering the end product on time, within budget and to the agreed quality whilst ensuring full compliance to Health and Safety legislation along with Safety Critical Work practices.

Working as a Commissioning Manager/Engineer supporting the introduction into service of Traction, Auxiliary and TMS (Train Management System) equipment. In this role I was working on and managing site based teams responsible for commissioning, reliability growth and warranty operations of supplied equipment. As lead engineer I was responsible for identification, analysis and closure of engineering issues and also responsible for consulting with customers (internal and external) on contractual engineering issues. As Commissioning Manager I was responsible for all project delivery, static and dynamic testing.
