  Working as part of the Culture Collection of Algae and Protozoa team, we maintain 2500+ strains of micro algae, protozoa, cyanobacteria & macro algae. I also work in the new CCAP-ARIES Centre focused on Algal Research and Innovation, using our Photobioreactors to scale up a variety of algal/cyano strains. I'm also invovled in Molecular work, as we work towards having the whole collection sequenced.

  Working as part of 5-year research project studying the impact of ocean acidification on Mussels and Oysters. This final segment of the project is taking place at the Marine Environmental Research Laboratory (MERL) over a 3-month period, allowing for the study of Mussel and Oyster shell growth and shell composition. The bivalves are being cultured in 16 large seawater tanks, with alterations to a number of parameters including temperature, pH and feed volume.
