As a Mechanical Design Co-op for D.I. Self Composites, I am currently aiding in the development of their metal 3D printer. I am mainly developing the powder feeder for the system which requires knowledge of pressure vessel design and mechatronics. I am also assisting in the development of our novel nozzle design which is giving me experience with CFD and calculations with compressible supersonic flows. As a Mechanical Design Co-op for D.I. I was a team lead for the Airframe and Internals sub-team on the Whistler Blackcomb project for UBC rocket. For context, the Whistler Blackcomb project's aim is to produce a liquid bi-propellant rocket which has an apogee at ~100km. My sub-team is responsible for designing, manufacturing and testing the aerodynamic and structural surfaces and structures of the rocket. For the Summer of 2022, I was a server at NUBO kitchen + bar. This was a multi-purpose role which required me to take orders from, bring food to, take payments from and clean up to 7 tables at a time. Through this experience, I developed my teamworking, multitasking and interpersonal skills. I also had a great time while doing it! For the Summer of 2022, I was a server at NUBO kitchen + bar.
