Connor is brilliant. Not only is he a pleasure to work with but he was the absolute driving force of Great Big Story’s creativity and incredible brand partnerships that were brought to life. Connor was also the vital link between editorial strategy and global advertising sales. With a knack for conceptualising creative ideas and brainstorming commercial solutions for brands, his passion for what he does can always be felt by everyone in the room. Both sales and editorial relied on his knowledge of the market, his strategic thinking and his ability to work well under pressure, being relied on by so many different teams. As he managed multiple brand partnership projects, he always delivered with quality, good humour and positive character. Something that I’ll always admire was Connor’s talent in building brand partnership solutions that worked hard for brand partners’ objectives, whilst offering the perfect strategic mix of branding and editorial integrity. He empowered teams on both sides, building complex brand solutions that involved multiple teams across both the Great Big Story and CNN commercial business. Connor will be a huge asset to any team and I look forward to any opportunity to work together again in the future.

I had the pleasure of working with Connor at Great Big Story, he was my senior and supervising producer in London. As a leader, he always supported the entire team making sure we were striving to deliver the best videos the internet had ever seen. He always encouraged our team to be extra creative and push filmmaking boundaries. I wouldn’t be the filmmaker I am today without his guidance. He is one of the best managers I have worked with and I am happy to now call him a friend.

I hosted a week-long storytelling training with the BBC Africa team. Their team of journalists, producers and editors from across the UK and Africa pitched several ideas, which I then greenlit and executive produced three. Films included: The story of a deaf mother in Kenya, a team of crusading female lawyers in Nigeria and a really interesting take on the stigma of sickle cell anemia.
