  Appointed by a judge, I represent child victims of abuse (all types) and neglect both outside of and in court proceedings. I focus on the child victim and her/his perspective. Then, I assess the child's situation and needs, conduct home visits, engage in interviews, review documents, represent the victim at teacher and service provider meetings, maintain a presence at doctor appointments and make an independent assessment of the services offered, home safety, and caregivers relative to the safety and best interests of the child. I then submit formal, written recommendations to the court regarding treatment, services, and care, as well as, short-term and long-term placement for the child. I support those recommendations with in-court testimony and evidence. Individual cases may last up to two years.
