I have had the pleasure of working with Emerson in the past on a project focused on pre-clinical research development for patients with Epithelioid Sarcoma, a rare soft tissue sarcoma. Emerson's knowledge of cancer, computer and research skills, and her multi-tasking abilities were invaluable contributions to the success of our project. She did a fantastic job in her position as "team leader", helping to guide the direction of the group, while also communicating and working well with all group members. I would work with Emerson again in a heartbeat!

In 2012, I founded a non-profit organization that focuses on enabling, empowering and supporting those affected by cancer, specifically young adults and teens. Connect4Cancer (C4C) also focuses on teaching teenagers about cancer and provides paths for involvement in the cancer community through our Student Advocacy Program and High School Cancer Awareness Club program.

I am the Executive Director of the the C4C Student Advocacy Program, an annual program that invites high school students from around the country to Capitol Hill for two days. I invite speakers to teach the students about pediatric cancer, the process of passing legislation, and activism. Most importantly, I guide the students through the process of meeting with different Congressional staff members and effectively advocating their views. At the end of the second day, I teach a lesson on how to start and run a High School Cancer Awareness Club. Show less
