Dedicated, focused, and driven are the key words when describing Connall Pugh. I had the pleasure of meeting Connall in my first year of our LLB Law degree. We instantly became friends and navigated through the complexities of a law degree together. We both became involved in the Debating Society, taking on roles within the committee; here, Connall has already demonstrated his dedication to the society, coming up with innovative ways to grow the society. Additionally, Connall has become heavily involved in many aspects of university life; working as a Student Champion for De Montfort Students' Union, a role he takes incredibly seriously, and also as a Public Engagement Assistant in the Strategic and International Partnerships office of DMU. Connall juggles these positions, while also being involved with the United Nations, travelling and participating in multiple UN led conferences and events, specifically focusing on Sustainable Development Goal 16. It is through this work, that Connall was initially elected as my Vice-Chair of the Model UN Society in the academic year 2018-19; however, as the society grew, and so did Connall's commitment - he was appointed to the position of Co-Chairman of the committee. Through this, Connall has clearly shown his ability to balance professional, academic and personal commitments with ease. I have no doubt Connall will progress far in the legal sector and would be an asset to any firm. I look forward to continuing to work with Connall for the remainder of our time at university, and (hopefully) beyond.
