  Clinical Advisor with strategic input into wide breadth of NICE programmes, assessing horizon scanning input to NICE for technology appraisals and medical technologies programmes, liaising with other NICE work programmes, clinical experts and stakeholders (Royal Colleges, National Clinical Directors, NHS England, and Industry). Currently I am NICE Caldicott Guardian with responsibility for medical oversight of information governance since May 2020 to date. A large part of my current focus over the past 4 yrs has been on antimicrobial resistance (AMR). I am Clinical Lead for UK Antimicrobial Novel Value Assessment/ Reimbursement Project, working with colleagues in NICE, Department of Health & Social Care, University of York/University of Sheffield, trying to facilitate a new methodology for assessing the value of new antimicrobials that would inform a delinked payment scheme to incentivise the development of new antimicrobials. This is part of the UK Government response to the threat of AMR. I have also contributed to the UK 5 and 20 year plans for AMR, specifically with regard to antimicrobial reimbursement and improving access to diagnostics. Show less
