I enjoyed working with Collin for nearly two years during the early start up stages at egnite health. Collin actively sought opportunities to develop his understanding of the cardiovascular clinical space while sharing his expertise in product development and previous work in the software space with those of us from the clinical side. He was a great partner in the field when introducing product and seeking voice of customer feedback for optimizing current software use while considering future development. I look forward to seeing where his next opportunity takes him and am confident of the value he will add to his future team.

I had the pleasure of working with Collin as part of the product team for at egnitehealth. His skill set and background made our product launches seamless. He lead voice of customers sessions to gain insight on how clients were using the platform for future product enhancements. Clients appreciated his thoughtful questions and were always excited to see their feedback and suggestions reflected in product updates. His deep understanding of how clinicians think and ability to leverage both his software and scientific background was a tremendous value add to the product build and the clinician as an end user.

Using similar conceptual design of the SmartBoot, I am creating a balance board that measures, stores and displays the force imbalances associated with rehabilitation exercises in patients recovering from Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) surgery. The device is equipped with a real-time visual feedback system to notify the patient of their center of mass, has Bluetooth connection that allows the physician to read force data as the exercises proceed and data storage for computed force analysis. With proper implementation and utilization in the physical therapy of TKA patients, this device will allow those affected to recover in a more timely manner, as well as restore comfort and a normal gait in their lives. My research project includes the development of a biofeedback device designed for physical therapists assisting patients in partial weight bearing post-operation rehabilitation. The SmartBoot is a padded walking boot fixated with a collection of force plate sensors. Using 3D printed force plates, original printed circuit board and circuitry, and a system of Arduino (C++) code, force data can be measured, collected and analyzed through a series of walking exercises. My focus is on the code and feedback optimization, calibration testing with second prototype I am creating and structural improvements of the device. I foresee the next step of development including an online database where, through live internet connection, physical therapists can view, manage and store force data from patients who take the SmartBoot through their daily lives in active rehabilitation. In terms of the business operations, I look forward to the opportunity of seeing the SmartBoot through the patenting, production and marketing proces. Show less
