  I am a Supervising Producer for the CBS 2 Chicago morning news. We are on Monday-Friday from 4:30-7 a.m. with my focus being the 6-7 a.m. hour. I'm in charge of choosing content, stacking rundowns, writing stories, teases and headlines as well as editing video. I work with a team of other producers and writers to put together a compelling newscast every morning. We engage the audience through storytelling as well as social media.I fill in as Executive Producer as needed. In that role, I oversee all content for the morning newscast from 4:30-7 a.m. I work directly with producers, writers, reporters, photographers, assignment desk, editors and production crew. I am in charge of live streaming the newscast on social media, writing a news update for Amazon Echo and producing a newscast which airs in Chicago airports. Show less

  I have experience producing all newscasts at CBS 2 Chicago. I worked rotating weekly shifts filling in as a writer or producer where needed. As a writer, I took control of work assigned to me choosing the best video and sound for each story. I worked with reporters to make sure all their elements including video, sound and graphics were ready for air.

  I was the Senior Producer/Morning Producer. I was in charge of a two hour newscast as well as the crew. I choose all content for the show, including writing all stories, headlines and tease, choosing video and graphics. I would also edit video as needed. I would manage daily assignments for the editor/photographer, director, master control operator and talent. I would create and send out a daily e-newsletter for the station website as well as add content to the station website. I also booked interviews, answered newsroom phones, researched stories and supplied story ideas for later newscasts. During my time at WTVO, I helped create a new show format and rundown for the morning news. Show less
