Multi-faceted contract position for an independent clothing pattern design company. In my role with Made for Mermaids, I am responsible for creating visual and written blog content for an audience of 60k+, as well as editing guest content. I also develop video tutorials, and assist with written tutorials. This portion of my contract position requires frequent use of Adobe software (including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator). In addition, I monitor social media groups & content, and help mediate social issues when they arise. Often this includes consulting with and advising team members and/or supervisor on controversial, sensitive, or complex issues that arise. I help ensure diverse representation in new product launches, testing pools, and all media, as well as assisting in recruitment of new pattern testers and content contributors. Finally, this position also requires precise sewing and technical skills related to garment construction. Show less

    • Boutique Owner
      • Jun 2013 - May 2022

Owner/Sole proprietor of a small, handmade clothing boutique. This boutique evolved from small baby items to custom clothing for adults and children alike. In my role as both owner and designer, my responsibilities have included: designing and constructing custom handmade clothing, creating all social media content, engaging positively and professionally in all customer relations and public affairs, and developing visual and written blog content. From a more business-centered standpoint, I have also been solely responsible for creating short and long terms goals and plans for sustainability, building rapport and establishing effective relationships with current and prospective clients, and maintaining diplomacy and professionalism in all interactions with clients.
