  As the OSHA officer I oversee all the sites Safety Officers within Compass Medical. I perform Mock OSHA visits, fascilitate treatment for BBP exposures, as well as hold annual Safety Officer meetings and Sharps Safety meetings. I am an active member of our organizations Workplace Safety Committee where we have implemented training for workplace violence and other relative safety topics. As a Compliance Specialist I handle concerns regarding HIPAA and assist with the creating of policies and procedures as well as their enforcement. I was certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) in 2013. Acting as a liason between our providers and risk management carrier is also part of my job duties as well as handling patient grievances, patient incidents and other unusual occurences. I find my job very rewarding and interesting. I have been with Compass Medical since 1995 starting as a Medical Assistant and eventually moved up to an Office Manger position. After 15yrs in a clinical role I felt the need for a change and the Compliance Dept. was calling my name. I made the change in November of 2010 and I enjoy my position as much as I did when I first started. Show less
