As the Animation & Media Arts Teacher at Windward, I teach five sections of introductory and upper level animation and media courses for grades 7-12. My program explores time-based storytelling with an emphasis on developing a student’s personal voice and portfolio. Students acquire a global perspective on storytelling voices while developing characteristics of leadership, empathy, and independence. Simultaneously, Animation and Media Arts students learn to expand their artistic vocabulary and skills in discussion-based critique. Technical skills are gained in the areas of drawing, introductory film production, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D modeling & animation. I am also an acting member and teacher in the Upper School Seminar Program.

As a middle school rocketry teacher at Westridge, I built the class curriculum, introducing the students to 3D modeling, laser cutting, and hand building custom parts of their rockets. The class aims to meet specific flight goals determined by the The American Rocketry Challenge, a national competition that takes place in the Spring. I ran a parallel rocketry club and also served as a 7th grade advisor. As the STEAMWork Design Studio Assistant, I managed school wide access to the makerspace and run the digital fabrication equipment, including the 3D printers and laser cutter. I also developed and teaches four sections of tinker classes for lower, middle, and upper school and host an after school open studio. I lead collaborative class sections alongside teachers from other disciplines, integrating hands-on learning into their curriculum through out the school year. Fluent in Autodesk 3D modeling software, Meshmixer, Sketch Up modeling and animation, and the Adobe creative suite.

I'm also the installation lead and preparator of all shows. I photograph and edit documentation of exhibitions, write press releases, and manage promotional material preceding and during the run of each exhibition.
