Sign Language Interpreter
-
Jun 2017 - Jun 2017
For one week, I was assigned as an interpreter to a Deaf student who wanted to attend camp at Pine Cove. During this week I was the sole interpreter for this student from the time they woke up until it was time for bed. I interpreted daily instructions, conversations, bible studies, game rules, music, meal time performances, and full-length seminars, amongst any other opportunities that required an interpretation of language. Camp Counselor
-
Jun 2016 - Aug 2016
I worked with students ages 5-12 (grades 1-6) at Pine Cove's Camp in the City. This job included traveling around the southern US to different cities with a team of 25+ people. In each city we partnered with a local church to set up summer camp in easily accessible areas for those who cannot afford to send their children to the main camp sites in Tyler or Columbus. I lead bible studies, and acquired skills in time management, teamwork and coordination, and working with young children.
