  I was the sole party responsible for researching, writing, and editing a hands-on learning, activity based curriculum for the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation's brand new summer program. I applied research based writing techniques, education standards and inclusive historical narratives to provide thorough and accessible written materials and activity instructions. -Wrote academic and instructional material for a one week long summer camp for low-income students, grades 7th-9th, on the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Reserve. -Wrote lessons that included background information, classroom/field activities for hands on learning, and immediate social context for subjects such as: ocean literacy, coastal marine and brackish habitats, marine protected areas, watershed management, coastal pollution, native vs. invasive species, and climate change. -Integrated technology to advance student learning, like a google maps interactive station on watersheds and a ROV demonstration for each different coastal habitat studied.

Pinniped Cognition and Sensory Systems Lab
