Greater Boston Area As part of the NSF GK-12 Boston Urban Fellows program I served as a visiting expert in a high school classroom at Boston Green Academy (BGA), an in-district Horace Mann charter school serving grades 6 and 9-12 in the Boston Public Schools. During my time at BGA I worked regularly with my host teacher on designing and implementing curriculum for both physics and engineering classes with an emphasis on sustainability and renewable energy.

Berlin Area, Germany During the summer of 2008 I was awarded a position as a research intern through the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). I worked alongside a German graduate student researching thin film organic electronics for use in photovoltaics. My responsibilities included helping perform evaporative depositions onto silicon substrates in ultra-high vacuum environments and characterizing samples using atomic force microscopy (AFM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR).
