Part of KSi Team which provided Safety Leadership Training and Coaching to Dolphin Drilling during 2015-16.This training moved Dolphin Drilling closer to their goal of having a high end safety performance & culture and being the industry’s preferred drilling operator.Safety Leadership WorkshopWorking with Dolphin Drilling KSi delivered to operational and office based safety leadership a bespoke “three-day safety leadership training and coaching workshop”. Leaders discovered the impact they have on others, and how they can influence and empower others to achieve a safer working environment. The workshops addressed Leadership, Pre-task safety briefs (Tool Box Talks), Behavioural Safety, Risk Assessment and Observations & Safety Conversations.Onsite Safety CoachingKSi Coaches then moved to work alongside leadership on site. Providing individual safety coaching to continually improve their safety leadership skills, harmonise working practices and establish a consistency of language used in Task Risk Assessments.During this period KSi safety coaches make observations and interventions to establish areas that need improvement and to reinforce positive behaviours. In particular working with drilling crews, engineering and marine departments assisting them to understand the Task Risk Assessment Process in the workplace and improving existing risk assessments in to becoming live working documents which were consistent in appearance and developing by front line personnel.KSi coaching format and method of delivery is crucial to build a continually improving safety culture based on trust, where staff can feel safe to talk about concerns, where good practices are praised and unsafe practices are eliminated through open conversations. In order to facilitate this, KSi safety coaches work with leaders through a safety leadership ‘coaching wheel’ which covers key areas of effective safety leadership. Show less
