Apr 2013 - Jan 2015
Moving my skill-sets into the high volume house-building sector has been a fantastic experience. Fast paced sites require exceptional planning and management acumen, which I have enjoyed and made great successes. As Site Manager I am responsible for the day-to-day running of the construction site; from man-management and leadership to the co-ordination of trades, direct labour and materials; also I am required to liaise with internal and external suppliers and ensure that the onsite construction team is fully resourced; whilst at the same time promoting a high standard of Health and Safety. Working closely with the NHBC and LABC bringing houses and apartments to CML and Group standard. Show less

At Applied NeuroDynamics I help companies capitalise on neuro-scientific research. Fifteen years of psychology and brain research has given me an esoteric insight into how these assumptions, combinatorial algorithms, heuristics and recursive categorisation systems which support and regulate learning and decision-making function. I operate as a consultants and manage research projects for private companies focussed on developing products, advertising and marketing strategies which are maximally congruent with their target audience’s brain. Brain research such as temporal difference reinforcement learning can help understand why TV commercial and advertising companies make a vital mistake when they pair a chart-toping song with a product. The song is remembered but not the product: why? Want to know why; want to understand better ways to target customers. Colin Johnson Applied NeuroDynamics Show less

Theoretical Research: Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience
-
Jan 2005 - Aug 2011
•The first is an Expiscation of the Effects of Testosterone on Immune-Competence, Cytokine Activity, Tissue Repair and Cardio-Vascular Performance and whether Hyperbolic Secondary Male Characteristics are Testosterone Driven Mate Choice Indicators of Genetic Value. •The second is a Theoretical Consideration of how Internally Generated Mechanisms of the Brain mediate Variable Organ Development in Variable Environments; Considering possible Neuro-biologically driven Environmental-Discounting Algorithms and the Epigenetic Regulation of Cognitive and Affective Neural-Architecture. •I have just finished a Theoretical Thesis for understanding Free Will, Physical Determinism in Neurobiological Substrates and Embedded Computational Algorithms and Assumptions of Decision-Making and Judgements. •I have Consulted on the impact of Heart Rate Variability and Vagal Signalling, Somatosensory Signalling, Interoception and the possible meta-representation in the Insular Cortex and Ventromedial Prefrontal Cortex with Dr V Wilson, Cardio-Physiologist, at Nottingham University. •I regularly consult with Dr William Orwin of Oxford University to Review Current Themes in Psychology and Neuroscience.
