  I helped start commUNITY in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Facing a shortage of quality, affordable cloth masks in the marketplace we decided to step in and help alleviate this issue. But we also wanted to directly give back. Food insecurity for our hardest hit communities is a huge priority and such a worthy cause. So we decided to donate $1.00 from every product sold to Food Banks Canada. I have been involved in every single aspect of launching the business from stuffing envelopes to inventory management to high level business strategy and marketing. Not to mention responding to and resolving customer inquiries. From original idea to the moment we had the masks designed, sourced and our website functional was 3 days. The company was cash flow positive from day 3 and has been profitable every month until winding it down recently.
