I was originally enrolled in McMaster as a Mechanical Engineer, but found that the Materials Science and Engineering program provided more focus into my areas of interest; chemistry, physics, and engineering. Through this program, I was able to seize many opportunities including seminars and workshops at the Brockhouse Institute of Materials Research. This included an exchange through the Ontario Baden-Wurttemberg program where I was employed in Stuttgart for three months under Prof. Siegfried… Show more I was originally enrolled in McMaster as a Mechanical Engineer, but found that the Materials Science and Engineering program provided more focus into my areas of interest; chemistry, physics, and engineering. While in Stuttgart I worked for Prof. Siegfried Schmauder at the Institut fur Materialprufung, Werkstoffkunde, und Festigkeitslehre (IMWF) on Molecular Dynamic simulations of Nickel Aluminum systems. We simulated crack propagation in these systems and then compared these results with that of finite element software to validate the results. My responsibilities included running some of these simulations through a unix based system, analyzing and modelling data through Matlab, and running Finite… Show more While in Stuttgart I worked for Prof. Siegfried Schmauder at the Institut fur Materialprufung, Werkstoffkunde, und Festigkeitslehre (IMWF) on Molecular Dynamic simulations of Nickel Aluminum systems.
