Responsibilities:•Appointed to join the Council 2014 Team to lead on implementing & developing strategies for communication/community engagement to support the council’s role in the Games, delivering key priorities of generating the biggest possible resident involvement and ensuring residents remain positive about the Games•Support the delivery of public relations around legacy infrastructure projects to ensure the council reputation is enhanced and mitigate risk of negative publicity from build programme impacts on local residents•Marketing/promotion of legacy projects including business and employment initiatives (Portal, Glasgow Guarantee) etc. •Working with council colleagues, city partners and the Scottish Government to support the delivery of legacy messaging and to nudge the development of new initiatives to maximise the opportunity for the city and its residents. Achievements / Learning:•Official IPSOS MORI research held in the run up to, during and beyond the Games showed residents as informed and positive about the infrastructure work underway, believing the Games will have a positive impact on themselves and the city, with high unprompted awareness of key projects•Worked with partners to develop a PR plan for infrastructure projects which maximised key moments and ensured ongoing media coverage/ public interest. Successfully delivered a one week bespoke media campaign with website & twitter traffic and sign up to our e-newsletter increasing dramatically•Thousands of residents engaged via variety of media including 20 public/stakeholder meetings, workshops, funding market places, e-toolkits, local newsletters, short films, e-mailers. Established/led two new groups for co-ordinated communication in the East of the city and for city-wide engagement. In final role successfully led the re-branding project for the division which brought together four Group companies. Involved branding research work, assessment of branding heritage followed by complete re-branding of all corporate materials, signage, literature and launch activities to staff, customers and the market.
