September 30, 2019 To Whom it May Concern: It is with great confidence that I highly recommend Colby Smith. I first had the pleasure of getting to know Colby during his sophomore year as an undergraduate student at Saint Joseph’s College. Colby is an impressive leader and has demonstrated such in his commitment to serving the community through programs such as Habitat for Humanity, as a Spring Break Workfest Leader, and through other ongoing social justice initiatives occurring on and off our campus. Colby has impressed me with his ability to engage others and build up energy around various community service offerings and events. His willingness and desire to serve others is greatly apparent through both his words and actions. A very outgoing and energetic person, Colby has a way of making others feel welcome. Colby continually demonstrates his passion for justice and the need for all people to have and obtain the most basic needs. In my observation, Colby consistently treats all people with compassion and patience. Colby stands out among his peers, as someone who is determined, hard-working, and compassionate. During his time at St. Joe’s, Colby has been an active participant in many of our service initiatives. He went above and beyond expectations in his role of Spring Break Workfest Leader, continually striving to recruit more students to participate and initiate fundraising efforts. He is a role model for others, and the respect that Colby’s peers hold for him is abundantly apparent in their interactions. He has an ability to work as both a leader and a servant, and to build positive relationships with others as a member on the team. It is without reservation that I recommend Colby Smith. I am extremely happy for all his future classmates, employers, co-workers, and peers, for they will be gaining a tremendously capable teammate and leader. Colby is dedicated to his community and has put much effort into assuring that the community he works with is supported and safe. I believe that with such a strong sense of social responsibility, giving spirit, and compassionate heart, he will succeed in a wide range of opportunities. If you have any further questions with regard to his background or qualifications, please do not hesitate to contact me at 207-893-7794. Sincerely, Kathryn Cody Director of Mercy Center Saint Joseph’s College kcody@sjcme.edu 207-893-7794

September 25, 2019 To whom it may concern, I am pleased to write a letter of recommendation for Colby Smith. I highly recommend Colby as a candidate in your company. I worked closely with Colby this past summer in the Estimating Department at Great Falls Construction. Colby was part of the Summer Internship Program while a student at Saint Joseph’s College of Maine. Being his mentor gave me the opportunity to observe his participation and interactions and evaluate Colby’s knowledge in estimating and construction. He was an outstanding employee in all respects. Colby has proven that through hard work, follow through, and team work he can accomplish tasks in a timely manner. Colby’s responsibilities included document management, attending pre-bid meetings, a full range of project estimates from formulating concept budget estimates to competitive bid estimates, communicate with subcontractors and suppliers and dealing with tough deadlines. Colby is well equipped to grow from challenges that he is presented with. I found him to be respectful, resourceful and intuitive along with possessing a good ability to solve problems. His positive attitude, communication and computer skills prepare him tremendously for your organization. I strongly suggest making Colby a member of your team. Please contact me if you have any further questions. Sincerely, Jim Roy Estimator jroy@greatfallsinc.com
