  I currently work at JD Metalworks in the engineering department. While I work in the engineering department I have kind of a hybrid role. Most of the time I work on special projects internally, these include designing fixtures, shelving, paint racks, and many other things to increase the efficiency of the shop. I also help process orders through engineering, determining how each will be built. I have also been learning more about quoting and how the business side of manufacturing functions.   JD Metalworks is a custom fabrication shop where I worked as a COOP Engineer while studying at Central Michigan University. Here I designed several custom weldments and assemblies for a wide variety of customers as well as internal projects. Along with working on custom designs I helped process jobs through engineering that had already been designed. This process includes determining how each individual part will be made.
