I worked in the customer services department of Grantham Book Services which is part of the Penguin Random House Group. I mainly worked on inputting gratis orders at the publishers requests which meant I had to organise sending books all over the UK and worldwide. I also helped to train new team members which developed my communication skills and patience. This job relied heavily on time management skills as the orders for the books were usually time sensitive. My time working here improved my communication skills as the job was very client based. I was given the responsibility early on to take customers on viewing of the properties in the local area. I dealt with customers on a daily basis through face to face contact, over the phone and via email as the main forms of communication. I learnt how to manage multiple tasks at a time while maintaining a professional standard. My time working here improved my communication skills as the job was very client based.
