At The Adoption Exchange, we recruit for children in the foster care system who are searching for their forever family and connect them with families who are seeking to adopt. As the Recruitment Specialist, I strive to create an awareness in the community that there are waiting children who need forever families. I work with caseworkers and permanency specialists to register children with The Adoption Exchange. I compile the data, update the registrations, and create profiles for the children on various websites, brochures, and email matches for parents who are looking to adopt. I also coordinate with professional photographers who donate their time and skill to take professional pictures of the children for recruitment. We post the digital pictures, and also create portraits that we put on display in various places throughout the state. We call it "The Heart Gallery". It is the faces of foster care. I also partner with KSL and coordinate Wednesday's Child activities and venues for the 6:00 news. This is my favorite part of the job! I I not only love learning about the children and then making their dream activity come to fruition, but I also enjoy being able to witness the great generosity and support that is provided throughout the community.
