  Started from school at 16 in the Apprentice training school for 1 year then moved on to the main works for the remainder of the 4 year Apprenticeship. at 20 moved into the Main Generator section and worked there until leaving in 1983, duties included temp Chargehand duties and loco Inspection duties. On the repair side I was in a team who refurbished all 54 generators on the Class50 locos. all other types of generators were maintained on locos maintained at Doncaster during this time ie Class 08,31,37,50,55,and 56 Show less
