It has been an absolute pleasure working with Clive at Babylon. Whatever the matter at hand, he always dealt with it in an efficient, calm and collected manner which, in a fast evolving company, was hugely appreciated by all. He used his extensive end-user services experience to help Babylon grow as scale-up company. For example, he successfully lead the implementation of services such as SSO and revamped the VPN for the clinical services, securing access for all internal users; his team also managed the migration from Microsoft 365 to Google for 1800+ users without incident - no mean feat. He was also always there to support any incident, giving much appreciated assistance to the engineering teams. I do not hesitate at all in recommending Clive and I hope to have the pleasure of working with him again in the future.

It is my absolute pleasure to recommend Clive Carmock. As one of his security vendors, serving his SSL security needs at Pearson, Clive was always a pleasure to work with. He was always polite, understanding, and very easy to communicate with. Even though Clive was based in the UK and I was in the US, he always responded in a timely manner and it was easy to correspond with him. Not only does Clive have an extensive technology background, but he has a delightful personality. I wish all my clients were as pleasurable and easy to communicate with as it was to work with Clive.

Having joined the company just prior to the merger of the Coral & Ladbrokes groups I led the internal IT function through this merger process to establish a world class global IT service. As part of the senior leadership team leading the organisation through a full review of org design, structure and recruitment following merger, I formed a new energetic team from a mix of existing employees and new hires to develop a first class IT service, covering all aspects from service desk, desktop support through to collaboration systems, email, identity & access management and device builds and standards. My strategy for this team was cloud native technology, scaling service through automation and self service. Standardising processes, tooling, and services across these two diverse companies to ensure that post merger we were able to operate on as many common IT systems and platforms as possible. Ensuring that on the first day of the merged company every employee was operating via a single identity system, every employee having a new email address of the newly merged company on day one. Migration of legacy on-premise systems for email, directory services to fully public cloud services was a key part of my strategy, deploying Google's GSuite across the combined company. Okta was deployed to over 25,000 users and became central to our automation and identify management service. Self service formed a key part of this strategy to ensure an always available IT service. Integration with HRIS systems was required in order to support the scale of joiners & leavers and ensure that all compliance requirements were met. Sucessfully maintaining ISO27001 certification. My team also led the scalable roll out of Windows EPOS hardware to over 3,500 shops deploying a model of plug & play device self configuration and deployment, reducing the time to deploy, and reducing the time lost in device swaps in the event of failure. This new role was as a result of internal reorganisation and the formation of a single global IT team for Pearson.I led the technical team that took Pearson's messaging and collaboration systems from 50+ on-prem Exchange based servers to a single Google cloud instance. Careful integration with existing platforms was essential. The logistics of migrating over 50,000 mailboxes took place smoothly. The number of people needed to support email for 50,000+ mailboxes dropped from 35 globally to 5, which I now lead. We also run a cloud based Microsoft messaging platform for a number of business units and have successfully integrated that with our Google instance.I initiated a global programme to simplify and consolidate Active Directory within Pearson to reduce the number of AD domains ten fold and establish simplified, common working practices across this environment.Recently I have been responsible for the technical aspects of a facilities project to roll out a single access card system to all Pearson UK sites linking identity to Active DirectoryUsing our ServiceNow system I have been responsible for automation of many routine IT requests that are now available on a self-service basis.Over the past 12 months I led the team that rolled out a global Polycom video conferencing bridging infrastructure for Pearson, rolled out 150+ new room based video conferencing systems together with 3 Polycom Immersive Studio implementations. Starting with Pearson when it acquired DK, I was part of the core team formed to establish a new centralised technology function within the UK. I was responsible for the IT fit out of the new Pearson plc London headquarters building. Part of this involved the design of a new LAN, Wireless and WAN infrastructure together with selection and management of a new centralised voice PBX solution.Responsibility for the planning and moving of employees from some 15 smaller London sites together with the smooth transition of IT services from each site with no loss of service.I led the team that successfully consolidated a number of disparate IT systems - Windows Directory, Microsoft Exchange, only new centralised platforms and consolidating ways of working.I further led the IT fit out of the new Pearson UK centralised distribution centre and migration of services from old to new.Pearson established a new UK based headquarters for it's Vue business. I led the team that established IT infrastructure to facilitate that. This included building fit-out, call centre design and installation, network infrastructure and server facilities.I led the team that designed and implemented a new wide area network for Pearson within Europe & South Africa.
