One of my key roles has been bringing the company and team up to speed with modern web practices working with git, Sass, Vagrant, Grunt. As the lead developer I advise on technology choices for upcoming projects and liaise with external developers in order to provide code and support to them in a way which works for them. I enjoy the challenge of working with complex requirements and finding solutions. Examples include: - a multi national wordpress multisite installation with cross-site content sharing - shibboleth login as an authentication layer to a CMS administration area - learning ERB and implementing templates for an open source document management systemA large part of my job is devops. I ensure that our web servers are running up to date software, keep on top of security issues, and fix problems as they arise. Largely self-taught through problem solving, I now have a solid working understanding of Linux operating systems and have experience of setting various server stacks up from scratch.
