As an engineer American Seafoods I am second in command of the engine room aboard a 300 ft vessel working a 12 hour shift 7 days a week for up to 100 days. My job entails the maintenance and repair of the entire vessel including the propulsion, hydraulic, electrical, and refrigeration systems. I consider this my "day job". I freelance in the field of video and film production when I am off rotation--which is usually about 2 months off. It may sound like an odd mix of vocations, but working in a high-stress enviroment in which quick and innovative solutions to problems are essential makes me especially useful in the field or on a set. It was this skill set that made me ideally suited for my work on "Sweet Crude" (sweetcrudemovie.com) where the location was remote and the shoot was physically demanding. My ability to think "outside the box" and over come technical problems in such a demanding environment was honed over the many years of working as a marine engineer. I hope to make the transition full time to video/film production, but for now, I freelance when I can. Show less

Camera Op, Editor

2007 - 2010
This was essentially an offshoot of my work with "Sweet Crude" director Sandy Cioffi, dovetailing with our work on production/post production of "Sweet Crude". I worked as a camera operator, editor, technical advisor (in Nigeria as well as Seattle) and any other capacity that came about during this production. Doc Lab was to be continuation of our colaboration in Seattle post "Sweet Crude". But due to logistical and scheduling constraints (mostly on my end) we were unable to pursue this endeavor full time.
