    • Programme Officer: Grants Administration
      • May 2016 - Dec 2017

When UHAI was younger and made fewer grants in fewer countries there was no need for a distinct grants administration role and the front-facing and forward-facing grantmaking. When UHAI was older and made more grants in more countries it was important for her to have a point person to think through the growth of UHAI's capacity to not only administer manage the administration of more grants, but to do so in such a way that did not impact her turn around time, while ensuring transparency and compliance. It was also important to identify less manual and more automated alternatives that could not only speak to this, but also built UHAI's capacity to harness the power of the grant's data she had collected in her 10 years of grantmaking in the region, and inform her continuing grantmaking and wider programming, communication and fundraising dockets. In this position, i laid the groundwork that built the body of work and informed the human resource re-structuring that built UHAI's Grants Administration docket. In this position, i managed a staff of three and together we ensured that;We continued to update UHAI's grants documentation to ensure they continued to be compliant;Reviewed our grant reporting tools to ensure that they remained useful in our institutional harvesting of information and donor reporting, but also were not administratively heavy for our grantees;Ensured that we continued to update UHAI's grants archive it for internal programmatic and communication purpose and for external use if and when needed.
