  A 9 month European Research Council funded role on a research project investigating the experienceof ageing, particularly around mid-life, and how it is being affected by the rise of the smartphone. The project intends to have not only academic impact, but is also partnered with various smartphone based health initiatives.Key responsibilities in this role are:o Serve as a public dissemination fellow to develop and implement a dissemination strategy for the ASSA projecto Assist the ASSA project in developing mHealth initiatives designed to improve the welfare of the populations we have studied.o Copyedit and assist the ASSA team in preparing for publications

  As Network Manager I was responsible for managing a network of over two thirds of all higher education institutes in the UK and enabling researchers to engage with the policymaking community. The role involved liaising with UPEN members and external stakeholders, including the Government Office for Science, POST, UK Parliament, UK Research and Innovation amongst others.During this time I:o Managed a research project surveying 790 academics on the barriers to engaging with Parliament's select committees leading to a roundtable with POST, Parliamentary staff, university and knowledge mobilisers and research funders.o Contributed to GO-Science’s ARI advice for UK Government departments and established collaborative relationships with Chief Scientific Advisers offices of several government departmentso Developed and implemented a series of governance reforms including the establishment of an Executive Committee.

  Lead the nationwide Ask for Evidence campaign and am the point of contact for the 20+ Ask for Evidence ambassadors and communities who are interested in the use of science and evidence on issues that matter to them. Often this means getting out and having conversations with people about evidence, how it impacts their lives and importantly how they can start their own conversations about it. By bringing all this together I ensure that all our activities are led by the need from the public.
