Clayton is the best amongst the best in his field. You do not find someone often who gets multiple job offers to go on tour to do lighting before they graduate college. His knowledge and expertise in lighting, video, audio, and just about anything technical is of high value to any one or team.

Matthew Duke

Clayton's work speaks for itself. He is focused and skilled at the tasks he commits to and he follows through. He the kind of guy you dont want to recommend so he'll stay at camp forever!!

Launching this show involved booking guests on a recurring schedule, nailing down topics each day, and communicating with the talent on what they want to say on camera. I send those thoughts to the guests on the show to get their thoughts, and load those into graphics, as well as call for b-roll footage to accompany it.

    • Producer, SharkFarmerTV
      • Nov 2019 - Feb 2022

SharkFarmerTV is the brainchild of Rob Sharkey, a fifth generation farmer from Illinois. He shares the stories of incredible people in agriculture... both their successes and perhaps a few blunders along the way. I produce the show, overseeing studio shoot days, timing out interviews, giving cut notes to the editor, and arranging on screen elements with our graphics department.

    • Producer, Market Day Report
      • Nov 2019 - Feb 2022

Market Day Report is a 5 hour news broadcast covering all of agriculture, the commodities markets, and weather pertaining to rural America. As a producer, I am tasked with making sure one of those hours is ready to air. I write the stories, ensuring accuracy while maintaining brevity, and format them with graphics, video, and sound to add variety to our news block. Once approval is given, I run my hour in the control booth, relaying any notes to our directors and technical staff, and give the anchors time cues for interviews.

      • Jan 2019 - Nov 2019

I took on more responsibility and added a hat at the beginning of 2019. This new role allowed me the opportunity to implement a few more things the growing business needed, including an employee handbook, time clock system, policies and roadmaps for the company's future. During my time with 44 Designs, the company grew from 2 employees to 10, not including freelance touring personnel, and the gear more than quadrupled in that time frame from 2012 to 2019.

    • Operations and Project Manager
      • May 2014 - Nov 2019

Over the years, my role shifted from touring lighting director to operations and project management. I implemented an inventory system, developed new vendor relationships, wrote press releases and strategized marketing, created quotes and invoices for clients, and managed the IT infrastructure. I worked with clients to visualize their dreams, create a project file, and coordinate with the warehouse and our logistics partners to see it all play out.

    • Lighting Designer
      • Sep 2013 - Nov 2019

As time progressed, I began putting designs together for some of the shows we sent out. I took over the design process for a yearly Christmas performance titled "Nothing But Christmas" hosted by The Creek Church in London, Kentucky. I worked with the staff there on planning out the show beginning in late summer each year, and oversaw the load in and load out in mid-December. This turned into a project where I was also programming and operating the show, and I was in each step from "napkin sketch" to reality.

    • Lighting Director
      • Aug 2012 - Nov 2019

This role is where my career with 44 Designs really began, with the desire to run lights for bands on tour. Over the years, I toured the world with bands from several different genres. I would listen to the songs so much I still can recall the looks of a specific song on each tour many years later. A few highlights in this role include:- North America Tour with Old Crow Medicine Show- North America Tour with Ben Howard- Australia and North America shows with Mutemath- Japan, Hawaii, and North America with Jake Shimabukuro- Grand Opening of Disneyland Shanghai - in partnership with Glow Motion Technologies- Church lighting install in Nairobi, Kenya - in partnership with Sound Bridge

    • Warehouse Technician
      • Aug 2012 - May 2014

This was my first (and truly never ending) job with 44 Designs. This role included preparing lighting gear to go on tour, checking it back in from tour, inspecting, repairing, and cleaning the gear, and keeping the shelves organized until the next tour.
