In our experience together at AccuWeather Clay was an integral Technical Advocate and Project Manager for several major custom development efforts as well as the up-time and automated escalation process for our largest clients. Clay has the unique ability to "speak the right language" whether it is deep in the weeds in a technical discussion or liaising with Sales/Business Development, or Upper Management. Please accept this recommendation for Clay Ammon. I hired Clay and managed him for over 20 years at AccuWeather. He steadily rose through the ranks of the department, taking on greater responsibility with each move. Clay had many direct reports at all skill levels, ranging from technical to management and was able to motivate and successfully manage them all. Clay started as an engineer in the department evaluating and setting up new hardware. In this role Clay actively reviewed and negotiated deals with vendors allowing us to improve our products and reduce costs. This involved evaluating new technologies, making recommendations to senior leadership, and negotiating the best rates to improve our products. Next, Clay added project management along with his existing responsibilities. In this role he was responsible for project completion, product specifications and metrics to deliver projects on-time and under budget. After successfully leading both other areas of responsibility, Clay added Product Management to his portfolio. He also oversaw major technical projects and product specifications and development for the business units. He was collaborative and worked to build product consensus with our customers, internal technical leads as well as the development team while operating in an agile environment.
