Klas is a Company that prides itself in developing the next greatest technologies for both the Government and civilian sectors. My position as a Field Service Engineer with Klas was to work on the Government side of the house providing customer technical support and training. The knowledge and experience that I gained during my time in the Marine Corps and Special operations was crucial in my abilities supporting Department of Defense and Department of Justice customers. With my extensive background, I was able to vividly translate their complex operational requirements into simple solutions. With the majority of our customers being forwardly deployed and operational, it required us to provide 24/7 technical support in order to maintain communicational integrity of those serving on our nation's front lines. Additionally at Klas, I was responsible for managing our maintenance and service networks. In order to better provide customer support, we utilized Cisco networking skills to configure OSPF routing protocol with DMVPN's to tunnel traffic back to our host site and separate traffic via VLAN's. We also managed a centrally located Cisco Unified Communications Manager providing a hub for voice telecommunications of our Executive Communications Kits via SIP trunking protocols. At Klas, I continued to strengthen my technical expertise through gaining experience with new tactical data networking platforms and having to troubleshoot through unique problem sets. I was fortunate during my separation to have the opportunity to work with a team of tight-knit professionals to help provide me with a seamless transition. The position of autonomously configuring and managing encrypted radio and satellite communications for my team requires consistent performance at the top of my game. I was responsible for facilitating all aspects of logistics of over $13.5M in assets, equipment, and portfolios. Utilizing Enterprise Resource Planning databases, it allowed me to successfully manage accounting and inventory control ensuring zero discrepancies. Through effectively implementing quality control initiatives and administrative policies, it facilitated seamless and consistent operations for the team during combat operations. Additionally during my time in this role, I focused on developing innovative strategies and utilizing unorthodox methods in order to streamline communicability. On multiple combat deployments, I utilized my interpersonal skills to advise hundreds of foreign counterparts on the installation of software and application of network products used to bolster their own internal processes. During my time serving as a Telecommunications Manager, I managed and streamlined multiple local voice and data networks providing services to over 35,000 personnel. In my position, I implemented compliance with industry standards by corresponding quality control and diagnostics of circuits, equipment, and alarms to identify and correct issues accordingly. A key role I held was on installation emergency response team. In the Spring of 2014, wildfires caused significant damage to our telecommunications infrastructure resulting in the loss of voice and data services of thousands of end users. I was entrusted with the responsibility of identifying Single Points of Failure, calculating risk, and formulating a strategic plan in order to implement repairs of damaged areas and restore lost services. After two weeks of extended working hours, we successfully reestablished all network connectivity within Camp Pendleton.
