Over 3 months I assisted the Body Geometry team in its mission of improving the cycling experience for riders by identifying the problem, solving with innovation and validating with science. The main focus of the team is to improve the way a rider interacts with the bike at the touch points (hand, saddle, feet). I was responsible for background research, protocol development and data analysis for various prototypes developed by the Body Geometry team. Over the summer, I balanced work on 2-4 projects at a time, all in various stages of the experimental process. Theses projects ranged from metabolic optimization in pro riders to eliminating hand-numbness for riders of all levels, and an investigation into various percooling methods. Data collection procedures involved the recruitment, education and testing of human subjects, as well as some in-lab bench testing. The data analysis requirements involved my development of new Phyton and Matlab scripts in addition to collaborating with internal software engineers to create custom data analysis tools in the pre-existing company software. I also collaborated with external partners when looking for new technology to use for human testing.

Conducting Langmuir trough experiments using Brewster Angle Microscopy (BAM) in order to observe and measure interactions of lipids at various surface pressures. These experiments model the interaction of lung surfactants with the air-water interface inside the lung and are associated with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). Transitioned in 2022 to modeling fluctuations in 2-D fluid using with support from the National Science Foundation (NSF).
