I was in charge of initial research about declaring Colombia's largest lake a RAMSAR site (wetland of international importance), which entailed summarizing and filing existing research about the lake and its ecosystem. This also entailed creating GIS maps of land-use at specific banks of the lake. I also played a supportive role in public participation events around the process.
